Self setup needed no tech support. Reviewed in the United States on February 14, 2004 HP printers have been my favorite for many years, but this particular printer is subpar. It's construction is noticeably flimsier than previous models, and it has compatability issues with a number of programs, including at least some versions of PrintMaster.http://www.dcc-outillage.com/userfiles/dell-poweredge-sc440-service-manual.xml

hp deskjet 5650 service manual, deskjet 5650 service manual, deskjet 5650 service manual pdf, deskjet 5650 service manual free, deskjet 5650 service manual software, deskjet 5650 service manual downloads, deskjet 5650 service manual online, deskjet 5650 service manual instructions, deskjet 5650 service manual driver, deskjet 5650 service manual 2016.

I installed this printer on three different computers running two different operating systems (XP and ME) and the software installed differently on all three computers, even the two that are both running XP. HP's troubleshooting and maintenance software used to be excellent, but with this model it is difficult to figure out how to print a self-test page, much less troubleshoot any problems that might arise. Also, this model is extremely particular about what paper you feed it. My old 722C would take anything, but the 5650 doesn't. I wasn't able to print at all on colored inkjet paper. Even HP Photo paper tends to jam in this printer. The automatic paper detect feature has a tendency to detect banner paper despite the fact that I have never used banner paper and this tends to cause the printer to lock up when I try to print. The only reason the 5650 gets a two star rating from me rather than a one is due to the fact that it does print very nice photographs, particularly with the photo ink cartridge. Photos on the 5650 print sharper and clearer than even on previous HP models. That is, they do when the photo printer paper doesn't jam in the machine. I have had difficulty with Canon in the past, but my father has been using Epson printers for about as long as I have used HP and he has some very nice results. Also, Epson is addressing the true digital photography lab with many of its newer products. I think it is time for me to switch. Please try again later. Peckham 5.0 out of 5 stars Some people say the 5650 didn't live up to previous HP printers, and now I can say the same thing - I'm glad I didn't have a need to replace it.http://gestionh.com/files/dell-poweredge-sc440-user-manual.xml

I also have an officejet for faxing - it too is color but it runs out of ink so quick I don't use it for general color printing anymore. I added the duplexer when I bought this, so it saves on paper. Printing even in draft mode is more than ok, and it's fast when you do. 600dpi is fine even for photos. Being this old, you can recondition the rollers with a bit of fedron, available on amazon. The only thing that is disappointing is that HP doesn't make utilities for it in W10 flavor. You have to know how to align and clean the heads via control buttons - you do have to google it good. I'm sure if this one really breaks, I would have to research a replacement, but until then, this 'l do, donkey. Please try again later. Please try again later. Lynn B. 5.0 out of 5 stars I've had it for about two months now and I'm very pleased. I had a bit of trouble installing it on my ancient laptop which was running Win98 and had only 32MB of ram. According to the box, my laptop had the minimum requirements, but when I ran the software it told me that I didn't, and refused to install. I played around with it and finally got it to work and haven't had a problem since. I also notified HP about this problem since the software and the box say two different things. They are looking into it. This printer is fast, does great quality prints and is pretty quiet. I also really like the sleek design. The picture above does not do it justice. I've been getting compliments from co-workers about how cool it looks. It really is nicely designed and doesn't take up too much space. I've used HP printers for years and have always found them to last an extremely long time. I usually replace mine because I want a faster one before I replace one for breaking down. Also, I want to mention that I bought an Epson about a year ago because I heard about how great they were and I was very dissapointed.

The Epson ink cartridges do NOT have new printer heads on the bottom of them, like HP and many other brands do. Because of this, the Epson print heads routinely dry out, get full of gunk and refuse to print, or cause a lot of smearing on your documents. I've had to take my Epson apart twice to remove gunk from it, and I am still not satisfied with its print quality. All other things aside, you should pick HP over Epson just for the shear fact that every time you put a new cartridge in you are also replacing the print head. I brought my 5650 home tonight because I needed to print something on my home computer and my Epson was acting up again. Installation on WinXP was a breeze. I didn't have my cd with me so I just downloaded the software from the HP website and had no problems. Bottom line: This is a great printer for the price and I recommend it to anyone looking for work or home office use. Please try again later. Please try again later. MamaKitty 4.0 out of 5 stars I inherited my husband's hard drive which had a 5600 HP printer on it (and was using XP Home Edition). We uninstalled it before putting in the install disk for the 5650. When we went to print a test page we got several pages with a few lines of gibberish on each page. After multiple attempts of plugging, unplugging, uninstalling and installing and getting the same thing, we went on line to see if others had problems. And they had! While they may not all be exactly the same, one person stated that switching to a USB 2.0 cable solved their problem. And it worked!! My husband swapped out the cords and turned on the computer, went to print a test page and FINALLY something that made sense printed out. Good luck! Oh, and by the way, I've tried the extra photo cartridge and really couldn't tell enough of a difference to buy another one. Also, I get my cartridges in multipacks from Costco and it's less expensive than other places. I had the 5600 before my husband needed a new printer, so then I got the 5650.

Can't really tell much of a difference (printwise between the two). Please try again later. Please try again later. snooker 5.0 out of 5 stars That is one thing that the 5600 or most other models do not have. I was totally convinced that manual duplex mode had been taken out of the driver so that you would have to buy the automatic duplexer accessory. However, much to my delight the manual duplex DOES in fact work. It is in the driver on the Finishing tab (the 2nd one) and it is called Print on Both sides. A window pops up to tell you to rotate the stack and put it back in the input paper tray. I can't imagine this works because I installed it on a parallel port but maybe so. I did have a problem the first time I used duplex mode as it printed the stack out and never told me to put it back in then I couldn't get it to continue as no window popped up. I couldn't seem to delete the job from the spooler either, even after I rebooted. I then deleted my old 722c printer from the LPT1 port and after another reboot it started working - don't know what the problem was and hope it doesn't come back. Man this printer is fast compared to my last one. Haven't tried photos yet but I expect them to be great, and use a lot of ink. Oh well. Please try again later. Please try again later. Joyce L. Woodward 1.0 out of 5 stars I contacted HP tech for help, but alas, after hours of trying this and that (you know the drill) it was determined that I needed to return my printer to Best Buy, a mere five miles from my house. I still had a week for a simple exchange.but NOOOOO, the man (from another country, probably India) insisted that they didn't want me to go through the trouble. Please let us send you a replacement via ups. I thought that was silly but he insisted. I told him that I could exchange this printer in less than an hour, but I caved and allowed him to send it to me I did have another printer I could use in the meantime (my ancient Canon.it's still ticking after seven years.

) so it was no huge deal. About one week later, UPS drops an HP box off on my porch. I contacted HP and spoke to a rep who kept insisting that it was a good as new. (scripting, scripting, AAARGH!) I DIDN'T WANT as GOOD as NEW. I wanted NEW since that was what I had!! I was not happy and went in circles with them, reminding them that it was over the 30 days now in which I could have EASILY exchanged my HP at Best Buy. I was hugely insulted and felt very deceived. I went to BB and explained the situation, giving them a copy of my online chat text with the rep. They were very cool about it and exchanged my printer for me, as a matter of fact I upgraded to an HP5650. In hindsight, I should have gone with another manufacturer altogether. I contacted HP again and spoke to some higher up rep about this situation.and mind you, I don't swear at people and was polite but assertive with my complaint to this woman.she was witch from the get-go.I told her that I thought the service was deceptive and I had to spend an awful lot of time on the phone, calling them, UPS, calling them again, and exchanging my unit because of what they had sent me. I could have simply exchanged the unit on the first day and it would have been done. She finally agreed. They sent me only one of the cartridges. Losers. So, here I am with my HP5650, which has a history of being temperamental, getting hung up (turn it off, wait an hour, try again) but printed text and graphics very well otherwise. Yesterday evening the carriage froze up. I could barely get the ink cartriges out, obviously, things are messed up. I can't get the ink cartridges back in because the whole set-up in the carriage area is stuck. I've got two expensive ink cartridges left and this thing is now a piece of garbage. We even resorted to pounding on it. I am weary. Never again will HP and I be associated in any way. Please try again later. Please try again later. E. Campisi 5.

0 out of 5 stars After 6 miserable months of intolerably bad print quality (2 lines on every page come out squiggly, the black isn't very dark, etc, not nearly laser quality), which I now attribute to either a bad print head or a bad feeder, and not my own ability to line up the cartridges) I went back to HP, despite the ink prices. I am SO happy with my new HP printer. The text is laser quality (you can print resumes and reports and be proud of your product) and the photos are great. I've printed out old black and white so far, and I can't wait to try some color photos based on the amazing photo that prints on your test page. I had absolutely no trouble installing this on my Windows XP home system. Perhaps people who had trouble with this didn't follow the installation steps in the right order - I doubt that the problem is with the printer, but with the software configuration on some people's computers. I installed my printer in 20 minutes. The only glitch I had was getting the CD to run by itself, but I got it going manually. I see from the other reviews that if your printer is going slower than you'd like make sure you have a USB 2.0 cable, and not a 1.0. They're cheap at Target. I can't believe the quality of the text and photos you get for your money with this printer. I tried Canon, but sorry Canon, your products are flimsy pieces of junk and your quality control stinks. Go for the HP, whether it's this model or another one. You will get reliably great quality results. Those frustrated people who gave printer 2 stars were doing so based on their installation experiences, NOT the print quality, which is the important thing. My only question on this printer is how long the ink cartridge will last. Although yes it's cheaper than past HP products, it's also smaller. In the meantime, I will be printing out resumes that I can have pride in, and scanning in some photos so I can play around a bit more with this great little printer! Please try again later.

Please try again later. Eyesk 1.0 out of 5 stars Well, try as I might, this unit seemed insistent on not recognizing the black ink cartridge. At least the software with the unit identified the black cartridge as the culprit. But this was the brand new cartridge that came with the printer. And, yes, I did remember to remove the protective tape. Or do I give this printer back and buy a Canon. For the record, I wasn't impressed with the old days of Canon BubbleJets, but lately have been happy with the Canon's I've set up for others. Sorry, but I cannot recommend this unit. Please try again later. Please try again later. AGNAZZO 1.0 out of 5 stars It was a work horse and gave very little trouble. It printed very quietly and the print was very sharp. This printer had only two cartridges a black and color. The photo images were excellent. Finally it gave up the ghost and the warrantee people replaced it with a HP 5650 and called it an upgrade. The 5660 sounds like a truck when it prints. It goes clunk, clunk, clunk and you might think it is about to break down. It takes two cartridges one color and one black. These cartridges are about half the size of the 932c cartridges and therefore have much less ink. The price for these cartridges is about the same as the 932c cartridges. I discovered that I was getting bad photo images. I contacted the HP people and discovered that to print photos I must have a photo cartridge. They want about 24 dollars to supply this cartridge. So in fact to properly operate this printer you must have three cartridges. How can HP state that this printer is an upgrade to the 932cPlease try again later. Please try again later. The HP Deskjet 5650 is prone to a number of issues, and learning how to resolve them is the best way to make your printer last. Preventing Paper Jams Step 1 Remove all the paper from the tray and fan it thoroughly. Remove any torn or wrinkled sheets, as well as any pages that are sticking together. The Deskjet 5650 is very sensitive to moisture in the paper, and that moisture can cause the printer to grab more than one sheet at a time. Step 2 Move the paper guide all the way to the left, then fill the paper tray about half full. Move the guide over until it is snug against the paper. Step 3 Check the paper carefully as it feeds into the printer. Adjust the paper guides if the paper feeds in skewed, or if the printer tries to grab more than one page at a time. Clear paper jams carefully when they do occur. Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord. Open the rear access door by pushing the two latch handles on the door toward each other and pull the door toward you. Carefully pull any jammed paper from the rollers inside. Snap the door back into place, reconnect the power cord, and turn the printer on. Improving Print Quality Step 1 Open the top cover of the printer and remove the print cartridges. Set the print cartridges on a paper towel or cloth to protect the desk or work surface from ink stains. Step 2 Turn the print cartridges over so the metal surface is facing you. Dip a cotton swab in some warm water and carefully swab the metal surface of the cartridge until all paper dust and ink residue is removed. Swab the print cartridge with isopropyl alcohol instead of water if the buildup of ink residue is very heavy. Place the ink cartridges back in the printer and close the top cover.

References HP Support: Deskjet 5650 Printer Warnings HP advises users to remove paper jams from the rear of the printer whenever possible to avoid potential damage to the unit. Not sure you need a PM Kit or you don't know if you can self install it, download a service manual Kathy got it shipped the same day and we got it the next morning. What a life saver! We are back in business. Thank you so much for the great service. Carol Vogt Prestige Publications Tucson AZ I called with a somewhat urgent need, and Kathy answered. I was needing a part that the manufacturer no longer supplies, so she spent a great deal of her time with me on the phone, trying to locate one. After I thanked her for looking, and hung up with her, what I did not know was that she continued to try to find me the part I was needing. She contacted other suppliers, and DID come up with one. And then she called me back to let me know. Now, I did not leave her my phone number initially, but she took it upon herself to look on caller ID to call and tell me that she had found the part. She even made subsequent phone calls to make sure that I was fully satisfied. She took my problem and made it her own, and went to the very end to make sure that I was taken care of; even at an expense to her time. THAT is customer Service you cannot buy! Thank you Kathy for making my week! God bless you!

I was able to install the tray 2 roller, but could not find instructions for the tray 1 device. After another pass on the internet, I read that only genuine HP parts work and shortly after I found PrinterSupplies.com. The rollers arrived yesterday and I installed them today. The instructions were sent separately by email and were clear and concise. Once installed, my printer now works without jamming. The only suggestion that I would make is the instructions tell you not to put the printer on its back to avoid toner spilling on sensitive mirrors. I could not get at the rollers to remove them with my fat fingers without putting the printer on its back; however, I removed ALL toner cartridges before doing this and everything worked just fine. Thanks again, PrinterSupplies.com I am truly impressed! Not only did your people call me to confirm the order and verify my address, but also sent a follow up billing prior to my receiving my order. I will be ordering from your company in the near future, and hope our business relationship will flourish.
